Basic Information

Description of the Organization

The Hanna Fenichel Center for Child Development is a psychoanalytically informed training center for interdisciplinary research concerning typical early childhood development; emphasis on meeting and understanding the emotional needs of children and underscoring the purpose of the early school experience for the child and his or her parents. HDP 191 students may use observation methods and interview the children, teachers and staff. HDP students will have direct interaction with children and indirect review of school records that are available for research on demographic information and academic achievement.

Age(s) of Participants

18 months to 5 years old.

Research Availability

Morning and limited afternoon sessions are available.

Dress Code

Type of dress should be casual and appropriate with closed-toed shoes.

Testing Requirements

A letter of clearance from the HDP Field Research Coordinator (Christina Knerr) and a TB test. Confidentiality should be observed at all times.

Check-in Procedure

Students must check in at the main office and call if they are unable to attend .
